About Me

Helen-Robin Watts

I'm Helen-Robin, a UK-based author and published poet writing under the name H-R Watts. My work blends emotional insight with narrative heart, rooted in sapphic love, historical fiction, and personal truth. My tagline is simple: Speak for the unspoken.

I began writing sapphic poetry in the mid-90s, with words shaped by feeling, memory, and the vivid clarity of scenes unfolding in my mind. Poetry was simply the form those moments took.

In the early 2000s, I began sharing my work with friends and online. Over time, people encouraged me to publish, telling me my words stirred something in them.

That journey led me to contribute to Beth Mitchum's Sappho's Corner Poetry Series alongside other authors. One of the collections later received a Goldie Award. We did not profit financially, but that was never the reason for doing it. We shared words that meant something, and the response was deeply humbling.

In 2025, I published A Poetry Journey: Poems and Quotes, followed in 2026 by Echoes from the Past, the first book in my Through the Ages Series. A collection of narrative verse poems celebrating five wartime sapphic couples, it remains one of the most personal projects I have written.

I am currently working on further books in the Through the Ages Series, as well as my Connection Series, a novel-in-verse trilogy beginning with Becoming Alexi, a sapphic sci-fi story about identity, resilience, and transformation.

I live in Kent and work in finance, self-funding my publishing journey one book at a time. It is not always easy, but it is mine, and that means everything.
